Before departure, put the practical details in writing.

A planning checklist for students and families preparing for medical study in Hungary, Italy or the Czech Republic.

Published 2 November 2026 · By Vistara Abroad · General planning information

Before you travel, assemble the university's instructions, check the relevant government requirements and agree who is responsible for each outstanding action. Use this checklist to organise questions; it does not replace instructions for your nationality, destination, university or intake.

What can Vistara help you plan?

Vistara's Apply advisory stage includes a visa, housing and departure checklist within an agreed written scope. Confirm the deliverables, responsible contact, timing, exclusions and fee before engaging support. This public guide does not include a booking or a promise of airport pickup, accommodation placement, local representation or emergency assistance.

Before making non-refundable commitments

  • Confirm the offer conditions, enrolment instructions, payment deadlines and refund terms with the university. Keep the dated response.
  • Check the destination's official visa and residence guidance for your nationality, plus any transit requirements. Ask the university which arrival and registration dates apply.
  • Confirm the precise programme and the professional registration route in the country where you intend to practise. An admission offer is not a licence to practise.

For families planning a return to India, NMC's study-abroad guidance says it does not endorse a list of foreign medical universities. Obtain course and fee details directly from the institution and check the rules applicable to your circumstances.

Prepare your documents and a first-month plan

  • Use the university and consular checklists to identify originals, copies, translations and certifications. Keep secure backups; do not send passport, financial or medical documents through the initial Vistara enquiry form.
  • Ask the university about accommodation options. Before paying, verify the provider, address, contract, deposit, cancellation terms and check-in arrangements.
  • Check insurance requirements and policy exclusions. Record how to obtain medical help and whether university enrolment requires specific cover.
  • Plan arrival transport, access to funds and communications. Separate one-time travel and deposits from recurring living costs.

The India Centre for Migration Student Handbook for Studying Abroad covers documents, housing, travel, insurance and safety. It is a March 2021 general handbook; confirm current requirements with the responsible authorities.

Agree contacts and responsibilities with your family

Keep a shared record of the university's admissions, accommodation and student-support contacts, the relevant embassy or consulate, and local emergency contacts. Agree when to check in after arrival and what to do if a connection is missed. Ask each provider about its actual availability and escalation process.

Indian students can use the Government of India's country advisory directory for official student-safety and mission information. Recheck advice before departure.

On arrival

Follow the university's current registration and orientation instructions. Confirm any residence formalities with the responsible authority, inspect your accommodation and save the support contacts you may need. Let your agreed family contact know you have arrived.

Keep the scope clear

Universities decide admissions; government authorities decide immigration and residence; professional regulators decide registration. Vistara cannot guarantee these outcomes. Read how we work, or request a conversation about your planning needs.
