How to compare medical universities.

Build a shortlist with official evidence, consistent comparison fields and a clear record of unanswered questions.

A useful shortlist explains why an option fits. Create a separate record for each programme or faculty, even when two courses share a university name. Compare the same fields and avoid scores that conceal a missing requirement.

Define the decision

Record your intended profession, qualification, target intake, whole-course budget and possible country of practice. If you have more than one career destination, research each regulator’s requirements separately.

Complete one record per programme

Compare the trade-offs

Explain the strongest reason for each option and its largest unresolved question. Keep verbal assurances separate from written evidence. Ask the relevant university or authority for clarification before assuming a gap has been resolved.

Use the programme comparison tool for maintained medicine profiles and the device shortlist to revisit options. The budget worksheet helps make costs comparable without hiding currencies or intake differences.

This checklist supports research. It does not determine admission, programme quality or professional eligibility.
